Sunday Eze, 33 from Obiofia Nnewichi Nnewi in Anambra State, beats up his estranged wife with iron, bathed her with acid, and forcing some acid down her throat over little misunderstanding. According to source, 11th of October, Sunday Eze visited his father-in-law's house at Edoji Uruagu to see his wife, Ebere Eze (23), who moved back to her father's house after having a fight with her husband. The father of the victim said Sunday came to the house on Friday requesting that his wife should follow him to see the new plots of land he recently purchased. After so much pleading from Sunday, Ebere finally managed to follow him to see the property. As they reach Oraifite/Ichi axis in Ekwusigo Local Government, Sunday Eze attacked his wife. She screamed at the top of her voice for help which brought the attention of some policemen on duty around that area. The policemen quickly come to her rescue but her attacker was no where to be found at the time they reached. She was rushed to Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital Nnewi where she later died.
Sunday called his wife's family yesterday Sunday 13th asking for forgiveness for his horrible act, without giving reasons for his actions. Sunday Eze is a fugitive and most wanted by the Nigerian police.
