Alleged 419 Kingpin Fred Ajudua Granted N 50 Million Bail


A Lagos High Court sitting in Ikeja, granted bail to alleged fraudster, Fred Ajudua.

Fred Ajudua, and Charles Orie, are facing trial of a report by the  Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) accusing them of defrauding two Dutch businessmen, Remy Cina and Pierre Vijgen, of $1.69 million(N270 million).

Mr Ajudua, was denied bail last June by Justice Olubunmi Oyewole, because he refused to appear at court sitting for several years, after he was been granted bail in 2005 to seek medical attention in India over his kidney ailment.

Lagos High Court Judge, Justice Ganiyu Safari, granted Mr Fred Ajudua bail at the sum of N50 million with two sureties in like sum. Continue reading after the cut...



“The first defendant should not be made to suffer due to his health condition while undergoing trial,” said the judge.

“If he dies in custody, his trial will come to an end,” he added.

Mr. Ajudua has also been forbidden from travelling outside Nigeria without the court’s permission, according to the Judge.
