In Sapele, Delta State, some health officers on duty arrested cow leg skin sellers also known as kpomo sellers at Sapele market who confessed to using embalming fluid to fatten the size of the kpomo, and make it taste delicious when cooked. According to their statement "we inject the kpomo with the embalming fluid (used in mortuaries), and then we soak the kpomo in water for some time for it to swell up, and look attractive to our buyers."
